Configure CuteFTP and Upload Files to Your Site

 

  1. In the File menu, click on Site Manager.

  2. The Site Settings dialog box will appear.

    1. Click on the New button to creat a new profile.
    2. Enter an easy to recognize label for your site in the Label for site box.
    3. In the FTP Host Address box, put the hostname of your FTP site. An example of a hostname would be "yourhost.yourdomain.com".
    4. In the FTP site User Name box, fill in your username. The FTP password can be found in your Welcome email from UCVHost.com
    5. In the FTP site Password box, fill in your password. The FTP password can be found in your Welcome email from UCVHost.com
    6. Enter "21" in the FTP site connection port.
    7. Select "Normal" as the Login type.
    8. Click on the Connect button to connect to the FTP server.

  3. Once a connection is established with the FTP server, a popup Welcome window will appears. Click on the "OK" button to start working on the FTP server.



  4. When you connect to your site, you will see the files on your computer in the large window section to the left. In the right large window section you will see the files on the FTP server. Click on the httpdocs/www directory (the directory where all of the files and folders of your web site are uploaded), and you can drag and drop your files from your computer to the FTP server. You will not be able to view your files on the web unless they are not in the httpdocs directory.



  5. The following screen will help you with navigation on the FTP server.
