Dreamweaver FTP
Set up Dreamweaver's FTP Tools
- In the Site menu, click on New
Site.

- Fill in the local information for your
web site by entering the directory where your web site is
stored on your computer.

- In the Site Name box, type in
a name to recognize your newly created FTP session. You
can type in the name of your site, your domain name, or
anything else that would help you to recognize it.

- In the Local Root Folder box,
specify the directory where you are keeping your web site
files.
- In the http address box, type
in the domain name of your web site, i.e. "yourdomain.com".
You can leave the "www" out of your domain, if you want.
- In the Category section in the
left, click on Web Server Info.
- In the Server Access menu, click
on FTP.
- The Hostname is the hostname
sent to you by UCVHost when your account was activated. The
Login and Password were also included in this
letter.
- Click Done, and you will be
ready to transfer files to your site.
- To connect to the FTP server, from the Site menu, select
Connect.

- When you connect, the window will split
into two sections, Remote Site and Local Folder.
Remote Site on the left contains a listing of the
files on your server, and Local Folder contains the
files on your computer. This is where you can upload and
download files.
